Orthodyne uses four basic types of chromatographic detectors to produce its analytical systems. These cover a range of measurements from ppb to %
This detector uses variations in the characteristics of Argon plasma generated by applying an electromagnetic field between two electrodes. .
These variations result from the passage of impurities in the gas being analysed. Measurement range: 50 ppb to 100 ppm
This detector exploits the principle of gas ionization. The carrier gas helium is converted into plasma by the application of a high frequency magnetic field.
With the exception of helium itself, any gas that goes through this plasma is ionized, thus modifying the characteristics of the discharge.
This process does not produce any radioactive emission. Measurement scale: 1ppb to 10ppm
This detector also uses the principle of gas ionization. Thanks to a flame fed by Hydrogen and Synthetic Air, this detector ionizes the C-H bond in hydrocarbons and other carbon compounds.
Coupled with a methanizer, it can also detect traces of CO and of CO2. Measurement scale: 5 ppb to 10,000 ppm
